The mission of Cornerstone Recovery, Inc. (Cornerstone) is to advance, promote and support the health of teens by providing a teen-based substance recovery program and to provide a supportive structure and environment that facilitates a healthy lifestyle free of chemical substances. This program will at times recommend that teens participate in counseling designed to provide teens and their families with the insights, knowledge and skills to be successful in recovery. Cornerstone realizes that some families may not have the resources available to access this counseling and thus Cornerstone has established the Cody Financial Assistance Fund (Cody Fund) that will assist clients who meet the established criteria.
The Cody Financial Assistance Plan has been established in honor of Cody Townsend. Cody began his fight with drug addiction in 1998. In the summer of 2004, we mourned his death and were all reminded once again of the baffling and cunning nature of addiction. Through the generosity of many and the desire of his mother, the Cody Fund provides an opportunity for individuals and families to qualify for financial assistance in the form of sliding scale fee reduction for counseling services. It is our greatest desire to help all families who are struggling with drug or alcohol problems.
Established criteria must be met in order to receive reduced fees through the Cody Fund. Factors considered include gross income, family size, assets/net worth, participation by the teen and parent in the group, comparison to poverty guidelines, or other extenuating circumstances. The Cody Fund offers fee reductions for specific types of counseling for a specific amount of time. The fund does not address past counseling expenses and does not issue checks to applicants. Applicants will be expected to display active involvement in the program to continue receiving fee reductions.
